Our School
Westmont opened in 1978 and, today, serves between 250 and 275 students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. Our small class sizes allow us to devote time and resources to each individual student. We offer a structured environment that is both fun and friendly. We seek and use the most innovative educational practices available.
We believe in four core skills and behaviors that will assist our students in becoming successful members of society. Those skills are Core Knowledge/Literacy, Higher Level Thinking Skills, Communications Literacy, and Life Skills. You can find details on these core skills and behaviors in our student operations guide.
We offer many programs to enhance our core skills. They include the following:
- High Ability Learner (HAL)
- Destination Imagination (DI)
- Elementary Community Choir
- Student Council
- Safety Patrol
- Outdoor Education (6th grade)
- Yearbook
- Speech–Language Pathology (SLP)
Mission Statement
The mission of Westmont Elementary School is to ensure that all students acquire the 21st century skills and behaviors necessary for each student to succeed now and into his/her future.
