About Dawn Johnson
I am a sixth grade teacher at Westmont Elementary. After enjoying five years of substitute teaching in this fabulous school district, I knew it was time to have my own classroom. Before I had children of my own, I was a math and reading specialist for grades first through sixth and a second grade teacher. I took a break to stay home with my twins, Garrett and Makenzie, who are now eighth graders at Platteview Central. I am now very excited to be one of the sixth grade teachers at Westmont! I received my teaching degree and master’s in administration from Wayne State College.

About JoAnna Johnson
I have been teaching elementary art for fourteen years, and I'm happy to say this is my ninth year in this district. I received my BFA from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. I am currently working towards my master’s degree in art education through the University of Nebraska, Kearney. I have been lucky enough to also travel and teach at camps during the summer, in upstate New York and in the mountains of Santa Fe, New Mexico. I love watching elementary students create. I want my students to feel comfortable to create with different mediums and techniques so they can explore and discover what they enjoy.
About Emilie Klein

About Kathleen Susman
I am your Westmont Elementary School counselor, and I am happy to be a part of your school community! I have been in education since 1985, first as a teacher in Chicago, and most recently in Omaha. I have a bachelor of science degree in early childhood and elementary education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s in school counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I have taught for many years and am dedicated to helping children succeed and reach their fullest potential. As a school counselor, I will work with your children in collaboration with families, staff, and our greater Omaha community. I will work in three domains, aligned with the American School Counselor Association National Model. These domains are: academic, personal/social, and career. As part of our eight-day cycle at Westmont, I will meet with your children once every eight days for a classroom guidance lesson. I am also available to work with your children either individually or in small groups to improve social skills, help solve their concerns, increase academic success, learn better communication skills, increase self-esteem, improve relationships, and work on being their best selves. As a mother of two grown children, I come to the role of school counselor with parenting experience as well. I am pleased to be your partner at Westmont!
Please contact me at any time with your comments, questions, or concerns.
