About Melissa Hasty
I have been an educator for over twenty years. This is my eighth year in the role of principal at Westmont. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa, with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in K-12 educational administration. I also hold an Assessment Endorsement through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I have had the opportunity to work in five different districts, and I am sincere in my belief that Westmont is the best of the best.

I'm excited to be a third grade teacher this year! I am married to Joe Parr, and we live in Springfield. We have two children, Annie and Jack, who both attend Platteview High School. I have been teaching for over 25 years. This is my fifteenth year in Springfield Platteview Community Schools. I have taught many different grades, including preschool, kindergarten, first, second, and sixth grades. I also taught UNO CADRE associate and technology classes at UNO. I have a bachelor's in elementary education/early childhood and a master's in curriculum and instruction. I grew up in Springfield and graduated from Platteview High School. I'm excited to begin our third grade adventure!

I am in my 16th year of teaching and my 10th year teaching for Springfield Platteview Community Schools. I received my bachelor's degree in elementary education and my master's degree in gifted education from Kansas State University. I have three sons who all attend (or have attended) Springfield Platteview schools.

About Shellee Dill
Mrs. Dill serves students from birth through age 21. This is her 21st year working in the school district. She was a contracted employee through Educational Service Unit #3 for the first 11 years, until she was hired by Springfield Platteview 10 years ago. Her educational background includes a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she majored in psychology and minored in education and art history. She also holds a master of science degree and an education specialist degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, both in school psychology. Her husband, Corby, is a graduate of Platteview High School, and her mother-in-law taught in the district for many years. Mrs. Dill has three children, Nicholas, Lauren, and Chloe. In her spare time, she loves to golf, read, and spend time with her family and friends.

About Kathleen Susman
I am your Westmont Elementary School counselor, and I am happy to be a part of your school community! I have been in education since 1985, first as a teacher in Chicago, and most recently in Omaha. I have a bachelor of science degree in early childhood and elementary education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master's in school counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I have taught for many years and am dedicated to helping children succeed and reach their fullest potential. As a school counselor, I will work with your children in collaboration with families, staff, and our greater Omaha community. I will work in three domains, aligned with the American School Counselor Association National Model. These domains are: academic, personal/social, and career. As part of our eight-day cycle at Westmont, I will meet with your children once every eight days for a classroom guidance lesson. I am also available to work with your children either individually or in small groups to improve social skills, help solve their concerns, increase academic success, learn better communication skills, increase self-esteem, improve relationships, and work on being their best selves. As a mother of two grown children, I come to the role of school counselor with parenting experience as well. I am pleased to be your partner at Westmont!
